Protection

You and you only control the access to your display. To access the display, you have to send a message with the controlling symbol and 5-digit password number in the first 10 seconds after turn-on 00000, ; where (,) (comma) - a controlling symbol, and 00000 - 5-digit password. The old password is removed and the new password is written in its place. For changing information you have to type in your password (but without the controlling symbol). If you don't need password, enter controlling symbol only. By default, the device is set without password.

The example of password change in Nokia 6600 cell phone:

Menu > Extras > Notes > Options > New note > “ 12345 -> Done > Options > Send > via Infrared

Turn off the display and turn on again. Within 10 seconds you have to send this message from the phone. Direct IR-port of the phone at LEDstream. During this period, the device displays the greeting screen. The display darkens during the transmission and reception. Then your phone reports about file being successfully sent.

The example of sending a message from handheld Tungsten/E:

Memos- New - “12345Example of new message” - Memo - Beam Memo

The example of sending a message from handheld HP iPAQ 2110:

Stop

To stop the scrolling that enters from the right, you put the controlling symbol .

In this example, the first 5 digits are a password (if you have it), then the message itself and the controlling symbol of a stop. The message before the controlling symbol will stop for 1 second. If you need longer, just put as many controlling symbols as you need.

Inversion

Let's do inversion. For this we use the controlling symbol <inv>. Everything that is put in between these two controlling symbols will invert.

This message will look like “Example-of-the-inverted-message”

Blinking

If you need to really get someone's attention, you can use blinking. The controlling symbols are used just like in inversion: <blink>

Vertical scrolling

For this cool effect use the controlling symbol <scroll>. It is put after the part of the message that will appear from the bottom, wait for 2 seconds and disappear on top.

Disappearance

What a nice effect! Everything that is on screen before the controlling symbol <disap> stops and disappears dot by dot till it's gone.

Appearance

If you need a message that would appear to come up out of nowhere. The “appearance effect” can be as spectacular as disappearance: a message will appear dot by dot. The controlling symbol is <app>>. A message after this symbol will appear dot by dot, stay for 2 seconds and exit to the left.

Change of speed

You can change easily the speed of a moving message on a screen. For that you can use controlling symbols: <speed1> slow scroll, <speed2> medium speed, and <speed3> fast scroll.

12345 <speed1> the message scrolls with minimum speed; <speed2> this part scrolls with medium speed, and <speed3> with maximum speed.
